Law Abiding Citizen

Law Abiding Citizen is one of those movies that you watch and you can't look away because you want to know what is going to happen next. I'm not saying it's action thru and thru however it does keep you glued to the TV.  Anyone who has ever been screwed by justice system would greatly appreciate the lengths the main character goes to make things right.  Or anyone with a little girl. So the movie starts out with a daddy and his little girl sitting in a room working on separate projects and talking about life. Moms in the kitchen making dinner and there's a knock on the door. Dad answers it and get hit in the head with a baseball bat. He is tied up and forced to watch his wife get beat and raped then murdered. As the father passes out one of the killers goes after his little girl. So he comes to and finds out both his little girl and wife are dead. While talking to the prosecutor in charge of the case he is told that they are not going to court and that they are making a deal with the main killer in order to get him to testify against his partner.  Meaning this guy will be out of jail before your can bat an eye. Pissed off, you bet. The dad goes into hiding for ten years and then all hell breaks lose. Throughout this whole movie I was rooting for the father and hoping he would get away with everything he planned. The end of the movie left me with “wow i did not see that coming”. Which was a great thing because a bad ending would have ruined the whole movie. I suggest this movie for anyone over the age of 16. It is not a highly graphic movie however there are some moments when you squint your eye, turn up your lips and try to look away. So have a look a let me know what you thought about it.

The Gamers: Dorkness Rising (2008)

If you are a gamer, dating a gamer, married to a gamer, or parents of a gamer you will find this move slightly entertaining. Basically it's about a group of guys who sit around a table and play a form of dungeons and dragon’s pen and paper.  The game master is trying to create a new gaming series and is trying to get his friends to play through his game so that he can write the story out and get it published. His friends can never seem to get through it without dying because they do nothing but fool around and ignore the rules. Frustrated he brings in a female friend to play along with them, who turns out to be rather good at gaming. This movie is ok for kids to watch. It has some adult content and jokes but none that I feel a younger person would pick up. Not a movie you want to go out and pay for but if you have nothing to do and it comes on T.V. turn it on and fold your laundry. You don’t really need to pay attention to it to fallow it.

Zombieland (2009)

My fiancĂ© and recently watched Zombieland, and it reminded me of the Dawn of the Dead remake mixed with Shawn of the Dead.  Now I liked both of those movies and have seen them over and over.  I am a huge fan of horror movies as well as comedy.  I think Jesse Eisenberg was great cast as Columbus who was this almost OCD nobody. He has certain rules he lives by which kept him alive. Then you come across Woody Harrelson who plays Tallahassee who is this gun ho, beat them down and ask questions later kind of guy. His whole goal in the move is to get a Twinkie. I can understand that you know you want what you can’t have be it a Twinkie or $100000000.  Then of course you throw in the cute chick with the baby sister and you got a good movie.

So we start off with Columbus explaining his rules to live by if you want to survive a zombie invasion.  Rule # 1 is cardio, if you can’t run how you plan on getting away. Rule #2 is Double Tap and you know why. How many times have you been watching a scary movie and the bad guy is shot and the people walk away while you are screaming at your TV “he’s not dead, shoot him again”? This is why you double tap, there never dead the first time.  Rule # 3 is beware of bathroom; it’s one of your most vulnerable times tons of people die every year on the pot. Rule # 4 is wear your seatbelt. Zombie on the roof of your car, you speed up and slam on the break. You stay safe and zombie goes flying. There is ton more rules which you will see when you watch the movie.

I really like Woody Haralson, or Tallahassee in this movie, he is this funny little redneck who is all about killing him some zombies. Oh yeah and getting his Twinkie. He braves every store he passes to find his tastes bud quenching Twinkie.  He has the gun power, the car, and the balls to wipe out zombie kind. He is the kind of guy you want around if you happen to run in to a couple hundred zombies or what not!

Then for a little spice you add in a hot chic with a little sister, who happen to be con artists. They steal your guns, your car and leave you stranded in the middle of no wear.  All the while you’re falling in love with them.  Check it out tell me what you think!
